Picture a tranquil ocean glistening a cool, serene blue with a
subtle hint of green…that is the color of this beautiful gemstone.
It is no wonder aquamarine's name literally translates from the
Latin seawater.
The ancients believed that drinking water in which an aquamarine had been soaked would provide great medicinal powers.   Aquamarine was also thought to soothe its wearer with a
calming effect, similar to that of a placid sea.
A variety of the mineral, beryl, aquamarine's stunning blue-green
hue is unique.   Its color is very complimentary to both the coolness of platinum and warmth of gold.
Aquamarine is the March birthstone.
